A powerful Jujutsu Sorcerer and Gojo’s close friend, Suguru Getō, was killed by Gojo after his battle with Yuta, which he lost. Still, Suguru Getō has been attracting the attention of fans ever since, and because of that, we have decided to explore his story a bit more as it happened. He is an exceptionally interesting character; in that aspect, he certainly deserves to be analyzed and explored.

1. “Are you the strongest because you’re Satoru Gojo? Or are you Satoru Gojo because you’re the strongest?”
This is one of the most iconic replicas between Gojo and Geto, if not the most iconic one. This one shows and tells us a lot about Gojo as well, but it shows just how well Geto knew him and how close the two of them were as friends. Their story, sadly, ended on a bittersweet note, but this quote will remain a symbol of their friendship forever.
2. “I just couldn’t wear a heartfelt smile, living in this world.”
Geto became a villain because he was disappointed in humanity and how vile humans were. It was a process that turned him into a villain, but he was initially a strong defender of the current system of values. But, once he was broken, his sadness drove him to create what he thought was a better world, free of pain and sorrow.
3. “No matter what anyone says, I really hate those monkeys. But I never held any hatred for those in Jujutsu High.”
The last exchange between Geto and Gojo, as it happened in Jujutsu Kaisen 0. Geto was defeated, and he knew that Gojo had come to finish the job, so the two former friends exchanged some words before Gojo ultimately killed him. This quote actually precedes the one in #2, as the two are directly related to one another.
4. “Monkeys…”
Geto was broken at this moment. The epic shower scene in which he finally breaks from his morals and decides to become a villain. The “monkeys” he is referring to are, of course, humans, and Geto’s strong hatred for them is what drove him to become a villain, as he believed that the world would become a better place if he eliminated all humans, who were the source of cursed spirits in the world.
5. “An endless cycle of exorcism and consumption. Exorcise. Consume. It’s a taste that nobody knows. The taste of a curse. Like ingesting a rag used to wipe up vomit. Exorcise. Consume. For whom? Ever since that day… …it’s been running through my head. What I saw was nothing out of the ordinary. A hideous evil, known to everyone. Knowing that full well… …I chose to protect them as a jujutsu sorcerer. Don’t lose your way. Follow through with your duty as a jujutsu sorcerer.”
Although he was broken much later, Geto had been asking himself numerous questions about his role in society and about his actions. He had a very specific task as a jujutsu sorcerer, but he would constantly ask himself why he was doing it and for whom since he did not get much gratitude and it all seemed like a vicious circle he could not get out of, although he wanted to.
6. “We’re the strongest. No matter what you choose, we promise to protect your future.”
Geto was correctly referring to himself and Gojo as the two strongest ones when he said they would protect Riko and her decision. She was supposed to become the new vessel for Tengen, but Geto offered her the chance to reject that and promised they would protect her decision. Sadly, he did not count on Toji’s gun.
7. “Of course. It’s important. Especially as jujutsu sorcerers.”
After retrieving Riko’s body, Gojo wanted to kill all the cultists, but Geto managed to persuade him to spare them. This was one of the final moments where the “old” Geto was present, as he was still defending the people he had begun to loathe.
8. “Society should protect the weak and keep the strong in check. You see, Satoru, jujutsu exisists to protect non-jujutsu users.”
An early Geto quote, which shows just how convinced he was in his own role in society and just how much he wanted to protect the world. This is how he explained their role to Gojo when they were still students.
